Stephen James Merchant (born 24 November 1974) is an English actor, comedian, director, writer, and producer. He is best known for his collaborations with <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Ricky%20Gervais">Ricky Gervais</a>, most notably as co-writers and co-directors of the British sitcom The Office (<a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/The%20Office%20(UK%20TV%20series)">The Office (UK TV series)</a>), Extras, and Life's Too Short.
Merchant is also known for creating and starring in the HBO comedy series Hello Ladies and co-creating the comedy drama The Outlaws.
As an actor, he has appeared in films such as Hot Fuzz, Hall Pass, Movie 43, and Fighting with My Family, as well as providing voice work for films like Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget and Where the Wild Things Are. He has also been in stage productions, including The Mentalists.
Merchant has received numerous accolades for his work, including three <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/British%20Academy%20Television%20Awards">British Academy Television Awards</a>, two <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Primetime%20Emmy%20Awards">Primetime Emmy Awards</a>, and three <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Golden%20Globe%20Awards">Golden Globe Awards</a>.
